
Better Than Takeout Burgers
Craving a juicy, satisfying burger but want to keep things healthy? Say hello to our Better Than Takeout Burgers, the ultimate homemade option that’s packed with flavour. This recipe lets you enjoy a fast-food favourite while keeping things light, nutritious, and guilt-free!
What You'll Need:
Ingredients
• 250g lean beef mince
• 1 egg yolk
• 1/2 red onion, diced
• 1 tbsp tomato or BBQ sauce
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tsp mustard
• 1 tsp mixed Italian herbs (parsley, basil, oregano), dried
• Black pepper to taste
• Wholemeal burger buns
• Spinach or lettuce
• Tomato slices
• Ketchup or BBQ sauce
Method
In a mixing bowl, combine beef mince, egg yolk, diced onion, tomato or BBQ sauce, soy sauce, mustard, herbs, and black pepper. Mix well using a fork, then finish combining with your hands until evenly blended.
Form the mixture into 2 large or 4 small burger patties. Heat a non-stick frypan with a light spray of oil and cook patties for 5-8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Toast your burger buns in the same pan for extra flavour.
Stack your burgers with fresh greens, tomato slices, and your choice of sauce. Then dig in and enjoy your homemade, better-than-takeout creation!
