How To Maximise Your Gym Time
Do you spend hours on end in the gym when you really don't need to be? I know I'm guilty of that trait! Maximising 45-60 minutes in the gym rather than 2+ hours not working at max effort has many benefits & can help you achieve your goals much faster!
Here are 5 tips to help maximise your gym time:
1. Cut down rest intervals
You've just finished your set & you jump on your phone to fill in your rest time. Before you know it your rest period has gone from what was meant to be a 2 minute rest to an almost 10 minute rest. Long rest periods in between sets aren't something to make a habit of, there's no benefit to them & they can stunt your progress. There's two options to approach this when cutting down rest intervals:
A) Allocate rest periods that are effective for your style of training & goals. Hypertrophy, strength, HIIT, circuit training, etc all require different specific rest periods for ultimate effectiveness! Once you've specified how long your rest period should be, make sure you're timing it between sets so you're not resting longer than what is necessary!
B) That brings me to my next tip!
2. Put your phone on airplane mode
This one speaks for itself! If your phone is a distraction for you & taking away from your training, turn it off or put it on airplane mode. Problem solved!

3. Socialise less, train more
Socialising is the number one take away from training! Don't get me wrong it's perfectly okay to socialise & catch up with your gym mates but do that before & after you've trained not throughout. To maximise your time in the gym you need to get in there & get it done!
4. Have a game plan
Have a plan written up & ready to go so as soon as you get to the gym you can get straight into it & smash out a workout! There's nothing worse than rocking up to the gym with no idea what you're training or where you're starting. As well as that if you're not sticking to a training plan & being consistent you'll never see the results you're wanting!
5. Incorporate supersets
Supersets are the holy grail for a quick & effective workout if you're looking to maximise your gym time! If you aren't sure what a superset is, it's where you have two exercises & repeat a set of each back to back. By incorporating supersets you'll get an epic pump but also cut down time as you're no longer resting in between each set!
Start making use of these tips & you'll find you're no longer spending hours in the gym working at 50% effort but rather an hour max training at full volume! You'll feel like you're working harder & see those gains appear in no time!
