How To Overcome Gymtimidation
Let's chat about gymtimidation! I know- this is the exact word you've been looking for to describe your fear of stepping foot in a weight room or signing up at a gym! As a first time gym goer it can be extremely nerve wracking & uncomfortable, you have all these strong & ripped bodies around you- who clearly- live & breathe the gym & then there's you realising you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. I get it! That's exactly how I felt the first time I stepped foot in a gym. We've all been there! But gymtimidation should not be the reason as to why you're not starting your fitness journey, it can well & truly be overcome! 
Here are my biggest & most helpful tips to overcoming gymtimidation:
1. Work with a PT/ do a group class

This is your golden ticket for becoming a boss in the gym! PT's & class instructors KNOW what they're doing. If there's an effective way to educate yourself with the correct information & become comfortable with the equipment at a gym it's training with a PT! They'll be able to explain things to you in detail & guide you in the right direction to achieve your goals. Group classes likewise are a great way to get a feel for the gym atmosphere & get to know other gym goers! 


2. Buy new activewear
If there's anything that builds gym confidence & makes you feel like a total babe, it's fresh new activewear! In order to be confident you need to feel comfortable in your own skin & part of that is loving the way you look. Lucky for you all WearFitazFK Season 3 is dropping in the coming weeks! So start saving up babes, because you're going to want to splurge. 


3. Sign up at a gym with a strong community feel
There's nothing worse than being a member at gym where friendly faces & good energy aren't a thing! By signing up at a gym with a strong community feel it creates a sense of belonging. FitazFK gym is the place to be if you're looking for just that!



4. Train in the quieter hours 
Training in quieter hours is a great opportunity for you to get a feel for things & play around with equipment & exercises you may not feel comfortable to give a go in peak hours! It's a chance for you to get familiar with the gym floor, making it easier & less daunting to navigate your way around. 


5. Get yourself a gym buddy 
Having a familiar face with you in an unfamiliar environment is a great way to calm nerves & ease your way into the whole gym scene. Training with mate can also help to boost your performance in the gym (a little friendly competition never hurt nobody) & give you a little motivation you've most likely been lacking as a result of gymtimidation! 


OWN YOUR SHIT! Don't let gymtimidation rule you, you rule it. Each person you come across at the gym is there for their own reasons- they aren't there to judge you, they are there to train. Everyone is too pre-occupied checking themselves out & admiring that mid workout pump, to even question you. If you own it, no one will question you!
